In July 2024, the Leimena Insitute, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, held the “International Conference on Cross-Cultural Religious Literacy: Multi-faith Collaborations in an Inclusive Society”. The conference has successfully highlighted Indonesia’s commitment to advancing Indonesia’s soft-power diplomacy, particularly in promoting religious moderation, tolerance, and inclusivity. In that respect, this book will be a true testament to the meaningful dialogues during the conference and a call to action for continuous engagement in bridging differences and promoting religious moderation.

The discussions and insights documented in this volume emphasize the importance of cross-cultural religious literacy in advancing societal harmony. By leveraging concrete actions beyond-conference, such initiative of an international conference on cross-cultural literacy could also serve as critical tools to support Indonesia’s leadership in promoting religious moderation and inclusivity.
