In a democratic country such as Indonesia, power shifting is done through elections. And every citizen owns a vote: a right to elect and to be elected. In terms of voting, every Indonesian citizen owns a single vote, and it has the same value. A collection of these single votes will then determine the next person who will lead the nation and shape the state policies.

A vote is not just any right. It has high value, and it also determines the nation’s future. The right to vote is guaranteed by Article 1 Clause 2 of The 1945 Constitution, which decrees that sovereignty is in the hands of the people and is executed according to the Constitution.
