Leimena President Jakob Tobing (second from left) speaks in a national symposium on the topic “A Decade After the Amendment of the 1945 Constitution: Indonesia Toward Constitutional State?”. The symposium was held by the Law Faculty of the Padjadjaran University in Bandung, on October 31st to November 1st, 2012.
The Leimena Institute welcomes a visit by the members of Pakistan parliament and researchers from PILDAT (Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency) on February 13, 2013. The delegation, led by Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo (Senior VP, National Party), wanted to learn how Indonesia managed the civil-military relationship in a democratic system after the amendment of the 1945 Constitution. Leimena President Jakob Tobing who hosted the meeting was also the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for the Amendment of the 1945 Constitution (1999-2004). Also present at the meeting were Daniel Adipranata and Matius Ho of the Leimena Institute, Yasonna H. Laoly (Member of Indonesian Parliament), Makmur Keliat (faculty at the University of Indonesia), and Pataniari Siahaan (former Member of Indonesian Parliament).
