Forum Komunikasi Kristen Jakarta (FKKJ – Jakarta Christian Communication Forum) held a prayer meeting and discussion on 6 February 2016 at Graha Bethel. The topic for the meeting was “Jakarta’s Governor Election – Safe and Peaceful.” This seminar was attended by more than 100 top leaders of the churches in Jakarta, both clergy and lay people, Christians and Catholics. They were all members and activists of FKKJ.
The seminar started from 10 AM to 1 PM Jakarta time. It began with the hymn “Indonesia Tanah Air Beta (Indonesia is My Homeland)” composed by Ismail Marzuki, as part of the expression of love towards Indonesia. After singing the hymn, it was continued with Christians songs of praise to worship God. Rev. Fery Haurissa opened the seminar with prayer.
There were few speakers with different backgrounds. Each one presented their views about this Regional Election. Participants were enthusiastic and raising many questions. The discussions were positive and helpful. The discussions were closed with the prayer for the nation, especially for the Jakarta Governor Election by Rev. Gilbert E. Lumoindong. It ended with lunch and time for fellowship among the participants.
