Cairo Center for Strategic Studies (CCSS) announced that Prof. Dr. Alwi Shihab – Senior Fellow of the Leimena Institute, Indonesian President’s Special Envoy to the Middle East and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OKI) from 2015-2019, former Indonesian Foreign Minister from 1999-2001 – won the 2020 Imam Muhammad Abduh International Prize. CCSS announced it on Wednesday, February 3rd 2021.
Political writer Ahmed Al-Maslamani, former Advisor for Egypt President and Head of CCSS, stated, “Alwi Shihab is a prominent Asian thinker and politician. He constantly works on the comprehensive confrontation of terrorism and religious extremism”.
He is scheduled to deliver a lecture at the CCSS headquarter in Garden City, Cairo.
