On April 15th, 2011, Campus Crussade for Christ (CCC) from the University of Indonesia campus paid a visit to Institut Leimena, to have a dialog with Jakob Tobing (Institute Leimena\u2019s President) and Maruarar Siahaan (former Constitutional Judge).<\/p>\n
\n
Attended by 29 people, consisting of 6 staffs of CCC and 23 students from various faculties, this meeting started with introductions, followed by Mr. Tobing and Mr. Siahaan sharing their political journeys. Participants, who were mostly students, used the opportunity to get to know the two leaders and learn from them through the discussion.<\/p>\n
\n
Mr. Siahaan, for example, addressing the question on how to maintain integrity in the midst of an environment that is full of temptations, emphasized the needs to keep a simple lifestyle. On answering the question about balancing the life as member of the community and church, Mr. Tobing quoted Isaiah 49:6 ” It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.\u201d<\/p>\n

This visit was part of the CCC\u2019s program to meet Christian leaders in various vocations in this nation.<\/p>\n

In their closing remarks, Mr. Siahaan said that God’s children should participate in this nation with an attitude of tolerance and an unwavering integrity with Christian principles. Mr. Tobing asserted that we should build love in our national life, while affirming our Constitutional principle of equality.<\/p>\n
