The seminary was founded by the Toraja Church Synod in 1964 under the name Rantepao Theological Seminary. In 1976, it was temporarily closed due to several considerations and did not accept any new students. The acceptance of new students was reopened again in 1984. In 2004, it was transferred to become Toraja College of Christian Religious Affairs (STAKN) under the Christian Guidance Agency of the Ministry of Religion. In 2011, Toraja Church Synod felt the need to re-open the seminary and named it Toraja Theological Seminary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"IL News 007\/2012\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leimena.org\/id\/_assets\/files\/IL%20News%20007%202012%20b.jpg\" alt=\"STT Gereja Toraja\" width=\"620\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"IL News 007\/2012 c\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leimena.org\/id\/_assets\/files\/IL%20News%20007%202012%20c.jpg\" alt=\"STT Gereja Toraja\" width=\"620\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The public lecture was opened by Rev. Augustine Karurukan Sampe Asang, chairman of the seminary. It was attended by about 30 students. The lecture materials included the concept of Indonesia in the 1945 Constitution, understanding the 1945 Constitution Amendments as a base for public advocacy as well as citizenship discussion.
