\u201cI learned to be a good citizen. An active, not passive, citizen. One of the things I picked up is that, although we\u2019re still students, we have the rights and responsibilities to understand legislative bills in a critical way. We also have the freedom of expression, which is protected by law. For example, we can voice out our aspiration, both directly to the legislators and through social media. Indonesia has changed for the better. Indonesia is more open and democratic, even the third largest democracy in the world. Institut Leimena gave a public lecture at the Ciputra University, in partnership with the university, on April 28th, 2012.<\/p>\n
140 students joined the lecture. The attending faculty included the Head of Entrepreneurship and Humanity Department, Johan Hasan, and two lecturers on the Pancasila and Citizenship course.<\/p>\n
One of the highlight was the workshop on public policy analysis. The students were divided into groups. Then they had to analyze and give critical assessment of a legislative bill from the economic, business, and social perspectives.<\/p>\n
