For this Citizenship Education program, the institute assigned Budi Setiamarga and Matius Ho as the facilitators.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The 52<sup>nd<\/sup> Citizenship Education in Rantepao began with an opening service led by Rev. Dr. Sulaiman Manguling, of the Toraja Church Synod\u2019s Discipleship Department. The program was officially opened by Rev. Jhony Madika, M.Th., a member of the Toraja Church Synod\u2019s Executive Body. The program was attended by pastors, church elders and members, including district legislators, government officials, and politicians from Tana Toraja District.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_image _builder_version=&#8221;3.2.1&#8243; src=&#8221;http:\/\/leimena.org\/eng\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2013\/10\/015-2013-1.jpg&#8221; force_fullwidth=&#8221;on&#8221; \/][et_pb_text use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221; background_position=&#8221;top_left&#8221; background_repeat=&#8221;repeat&#8221; background_size=&#8221;initial&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.2.1&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The 53<sup>rd<\/sup> Citizenship Education was conducted in the Toraja Church\u2019s Ministry Hall in Palopo. Participating in the program were around 70 people from the 16 church districts in Tanah Luwu region. Among them were pastors, church elders, legislative candidates, teachers, and businessmen. The program was opened by Rev. Yahya Boong, a member of the Toraja Church Synod\u2019s Executive Body in the Luwu region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As a followup to this Citizenship Education program, the Discipleship Department of the Toraja Church Synod will work on developing Citizens\u2019s Discussion groups using the guideline and discussion materials provided by the Institut Leimena. Especially the Toraja Church\u2019s young people as future leaders in church and country.<\/em> (Soni Budi Pandin \u2013 Toraja Church \u201cRama\u201d in Makassar)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>The program brings the awareness of the need for a political education for citizens, both sociologically and theologically. It clarifies the important things in a citizenship education to be included in a political education curriculum for citizens, in both competency and character development aspects. <\/em>(Rev.
