Facing moral decline in various aspects of national life today, the discussion of “Ethics in the nation and State” should not stop at the level of discourse, but must be pursued to its operational strategy. This was raised in the session of that topic with speakers Matius Ho (Institut Leimena) and Christianto Wibisono (Indonesia Presidential Institute) at the National Seminar to launch the Center for the Study of Ethics and Socio-Religiosity in Petra Christian University in Surabaya, on November 8, 2013. The seminar was closed on November 9 by the Center Director Linda Bustan.<\/p>\n

Customary rights in the Maluku province and the position of customary law in the Republic of Indonesia\u2019s national law became the main topic discussed when the Institut Leimena team\u2014Dr. Maruarar Siahaan (Chairman, Legal & Judicial Studies Taskforce), Matius Ho (Executive Director), and Viona Wijaya\u2014met with Dean Dr. J. Tjiptabudy, Assistant Deans, faculty, and customary law experts of the Pattimura University\u2019s Law Faculty in Ambon, Maluku province, on November 19, 2013. A day earlier, Dr. Siahaan discussed the same topic with the leaders of the Maluku Protestant Church (GPM) from all districts in the 35th General Assembly of the GPM Church Synod at Uwen Gabungan village, West Seram district.
